Homing Yian, MD

Homing Yian, MD (Emeritus)

Dr. Yian has been a Board Certified Pediatrician since 1973. He graduated from the National Taiwan University College of Medicine. He finished his pediatric residency at New York College of Medicine and pediatric oncology or hematology fellowship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City, New York. Dr. Yian joined Dr. Howard Comstock’s practice in 1973. Dr. Yian is a member of the A.M.A., Michigan State Medical Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

He is a clinical professor of the Department of Human Development at Michigan State University and is a recipient of the William B. Weil, Jr., M.D., Endowed Distinguished Pediatric Faculty Award in 2013. He has received a teaching award from the Department of Family Practice, Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.

 

Dr. Yian is an experienced, well–rounded general pediatrician and has devoted most of his time to the care of any child who needs medical care. He is married and has three children. He enjoys playing tennis, golfing, and jogging. His hobbies include gardening, traveling, classical music and photography.

David J. Lipsitz, MD, MPH

David J. Lipsitz, MD, MPH

Dr. Lipsitz has been a Board Certified Pediatrician since 1981, and he recertified in 2010. He holds an MD from the University of Michigan and completed his Pediatric Residency Program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Lipsitz served four years in the United States Public Health Service in Gallup, New Mexico and Pueblo, Colorado and then completed his Masters of Public Health degree and post-residency fellowship at the University of Minnesota prior to moving to Michigan in 1986.


Dr. Lipsitz joined Pediatric Care of Lansing in July of 2007. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.


Dr. Lipsitz grew up in the city of Detroit. He enjoys exercise in the form of walking, hiking, and biking. He does vegetarian cooking and also enjoys reading. He and his wife, Claudia, have two daughters and one grandchild.

Melissa P. Long, DO

Melissa P. Long, DO

Dr. Long has been a Board Certified Pediatrician since 2004 and recertified in 2011. She holds a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine in Pediatrics from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her Pediatric Residency Program at Michigan State University and Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, Michigan. Dr. Long also has a BS degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.

 

She joined the team at Pediatric Care of Lansing in August of 2000.


Dr. Long is a member of the Michigan State University Alumni Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

 

Dr. Long was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. She enjoys playing any sport, reading, and spending time with family and friends . She loves MSU sports. Dr. Long is married to Paul A. Long. They have 3 children. 


Cori A. Hemming, MD

Cori A. Hemming, MD

Dr. Cori Hemming has been a Board Certified Pediatrician since 2011. She holds an MD from Wayne State University. She completed her Pediatric Residency Program at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan, Detroit, Michigan. She also has a BS degree in Microbiology from Michigan State University.

 

Dr. Hemming joined Pediatric Care of Lansing in August of 2012. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.


Dr. Hemming enjoys music, playing board games, and playing pickleball. She is married and has one child in Okemos schools. She also has identical twin sister (plus another sister you might see around the office)!

Marlie Patel Campbell

Marlie Patel Campbell, DO

Dr. Marlie Campbell has been a been a Board-Certified Pediatrician since 2022. She received her medical degree from Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina. Dr. Campbell completed her Pediatric Residency with the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. She also has a BS degree in Human Biology with a minor in Religious Studies from Michigan State University. 

 

She joined the team at PCOL in August of 2022. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. 

 

Dr. Campbell grew up in East Lansing, MI and enjoys staying active, reading, and spending time with her family. She is married to Nicholas Campbell; a Cardiologist at McLaren Greater Lansing, and they welcomed their first son in May 2024. 


Christopher Thompson

Christopher Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson grew up in Wisconsin, earned his BA and MD in Minnesota, and completed his pediatric residency at Sparrow in Lansing. His clinical focus includes allergic conditions—such as asthma—as well as children’s mental health, from early behavior challenges to ADHD, anxiety, and depression in adolescents.


His research has appeared in JAMA Pediatrics and other peer-reviewed journals. He has been inspired by his grandfather’s surgical research and supported by his wife, a mechanical engineering professor at Michigan State.


At home, he and his wife share life with their two young daughters and love camping, hiking, gardening, photography, and cooking.
